Hi johny,
I’ve posted an update but left out instructions on how to install the windows drivers via ndiswrapper for now. With NDiswrapper the wireless was working but was not working well. I have not tried installing Kubuntu Lucid on the N220 but I have read that the Lucid kernel supports the wireless card. I would suggest that you first see if installing Kubuntu Lucid will detect the wireless card automatically.

As for general driver installation: I usually see if I can install drivers via aptitude (KPackageKit is a graphical front end for this). The instructions for installing the Realtek RTL 8192E Wireless driver on the blog post need to be done via the command line (Konsole is a program that will give you a command line to type at). The blog post has the commands that need to be typed (or copy-pasted).

Good luck getting Linux installed on your netbook and learning more about it! Don’t hesitate to come back and ask questions if you get stuck and I’ll do my best to try and help! Otherwise, for general Linux help I’ve always found some of the http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/ forums to be helpful.

Thank you very much for sharing this but is it possible for you to put a little more details about the installation of the Drivers, because I am really becoming to love Linux but I am still starting to learn how to use it, so if I could have linux on my new n220 netBook it would be just perfect!
